Beyond The Wire

So, bots are here. Can we host our own battles?
Can we? I really don't feel like joining high ping servers just to kill some bots.
Can anyone confirm if it is possible to host bot matches? (for single player)

Don't expect this to be playable, performance aside the bots are deformed and their hitboxes are wonky, but with a patch it might be enjoyable.

Doesn't look like we are able to host our own games, at least I haven't found out how. Now that we have got bots, we could start fighting for getting private self hosted games next :)

Sure, at least some sort of console command to get to the maps and play.
What's the point of adding bots if I still need to be online to play and have fun?

Not a solution, I still need to be online and latency dependent to have fun.
There must have a way to host matches privatelly.

Check your Steam Library for Beyond The Wire - Dedicated server and then set it up to have a password via config files. Hosting a server from your own PC will put the server in custom browser.

I could not locate the Dedicated Server app, are you sure this is the right path?

You can use steamcmd
https://beyondthewire.fandom.com/wiki/Server_Installation
https://beyondthewire.fandom.com/wiki/Server_Configuration

to add bots the patch notes say there are 2 ways:
1. In the Console, type: AdminSetBots <Num>
2. In the Server.cfg file, type: BotsLimit=<Num>

also the wiki page says if you run the server on the same machine you want to run the game, you need to close steam then run the server. Once the server is up then you can reopen steam and run the game.

Can't you just launch a game via console and add the bots via console?

This is what I wanted but it seems not to be possible for some reason.

Confirmed it works in custom games launched via console.

However, they do not have heads, their torsos are split along the middle and after moving they grow to be 7ft tall, like some deformed mythological entity.

Can you give me the console commands you used, please?

Load up the shooting range and open console.

From what I have experienced and tested on my server. Just wanting to put this out there for people too see. The bots are very buggy if their are to many trying to climb one spot but also if the server is full of bots expect them to be a big buggy as well it's not polished it was just pushed out. They need to be fine tuned but with a little work the bots will be just fine. On two maps specifically they steam rolled me a few times. Sometimes their hit boxes DO messs up as well has their torsos but other then that I have had no real big problems other then they aren't the smartest but they do work decent and could work better with some patches,
