Windows is expected to host xbox controllers, that's just how it is. You won't see PS4 symbols unless you play on PS4.

Yeah kinda disappointed they didn't include the ps4 prompts, since so many games introduced it... It wouldn't even be extra work cuz they did it on the ps4 version already... Maybe it can be patched or modded in?

its because some games also support the PS4 Symbols which will automaticly be seen when you plug in a PS4 Controller, same with a XBOX Controller.

Yes, but even some provide option to switch prompts, or switch based on steam. For how much effort it really takes, especially if your game is on PS4, more games need ps4 prmpts baked in.

There are typically 3 types of scenarios for PS4 Controller support.

  • Native Support (works with Steam input disabled and shows PS4 buttons; if Steam input is left on, game will think it's an Xbox controller)
  • Native Support (works without having to disable Steam input and shows PS4 buttons but this one seems to be rarer; usually just best to disable Steam input for this game anyway)
  • No support at all (Steam input is needed but will make controller emulate Xbox controller)

This game unfortunately doesn't have native support. A lot of games have mods that you can install to show DS4 buttons though. I think there's a mod for this one.

I use PCGamingWiki to see if a game has native support for the DS4 controller. Here's a link to My Hero One's Justice 2. https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/My_Hero:_One%27s_Justice_2#Input

I will say the second type is my personal favorite. I also like choice, as it's the best for everyone. Usually square enix games, but also something like Trails of cold steel have this, where you go into menus and can set manually which one.
I will say, the ones where you don't have to disable steam input are usually follow the original PS4 implementation, including proper use of the trackpad. It's just sad how few games seem to even include basic support, especially when they released on PS4.
