What is the general meta? is the normal damage resistance or the anti armor resistance more important?

Earlygame armor < Linen < Other armor that is probably obsolete by the time you get it < Chainmails.

Better to have more armor than resistance to AA because its like doing AA damage to yourself in first place by decreasing your armor... Only good thing I can think about higher resist is that AA and soft spots decrease cover stat less but I recall that armor had inferior coverage as well...
