Toki
Save feature?
The game would be a lot better with a save system

it may be that the goal of not adding this feature is to stay true to the original arcade game. this addition is not planned as of yet.

Then how about making it an option for players at the main menu? Arcade Original, and Re-Imagined with various options like a save system, being able to choose number of lives and continues, etc. A lot of remakes/remasters of classic arcade games have done this and merely making it an option doesn't take away from the original for those that want to play it with no saves and limited continues.

Yea at least a save between lvls would be a great addition.
I've used to play Toki as a Kid. While I understand devs wants to keep it faithful to the 80's version, it's 2019 and a save feature is much appreciated.

My guess is a lot of people who is going to buy this game is people who played this in the 80 and would like to replay it, via steam, but unfortunately, like me, don't have that much free time anymore.

See the thing is that by limiting the number of continues it is already not being faithful to the quarter munching nature of the original arcade game. In the original arcade game you had unlimited continues as long as you kept feeding quarters until the last stage where you only had 10 continues to try and beat it.

In my opinion (if i can) give 9 credits for whole game is too hard for 98-99% of the playerbase.

if you think there are 9 levels, to a very high difficulty. It is frustrating after a while to have to repeat the game several times, for example, to learn the boss (move set) of the third level.

I propose, to add the continues like Metal Slug, infinite. Or, add 9 credits per level, but when you get over them you have the opportunity to start from the last level. At least this in a separate way. Without checkpoint also is possible.

At the moment I think the game scares the vast majority of the target audience

I have to agree with everyone above. I was really interested into this, loved feeding it my coins back in the days, and was preparing my wallet for this remake that just looks so beautiful with these visuals. I was just looking around to find information about how its difficulty compares to the original and i got pleasantly surprised and disappointed at once.

Love that the remake stayed true regarding the difficulty, but complete lack of a save system is just a no for me, especially combined with the game being so hard. I don't mind the challenge, i was looking for it actually. But as people said, Toki fans these days just don't have enough time to play this in a sitting or something, families, work, take your pick. And restarting over and over again doesn't sound exactly ideal. Just a save between levels would be great, to have them all unlocked at a point, play any of them we would like etc. Things like that you expect from a game in 2019.

hated it: first go. 2nd go still hate it. 3rd go still: find out no save: no 4th

You can always go for the optional way. You can have a pure classic mode and a more friendly mode (yes even more than the actual easy) for learn a lil quickly.

Question to the devs: how about putting in a save system at least if you want to exit the game mid play, but without option of reloading?
Also, if you really wanted to be faitfull to the original, you should've let us put in as many coins (continues) as we want to, much like we could in arcade:
Also, when you inserted the coin and hit the continue, you weren't put back to beginning of the level but to the last check point

But here another player states that there are no coins to use.

I'm holding buying the game because of reading this.

The game doesn't have not even checkpoints or coins?
You have to re-play the entire game from scratch and also win the complete game at once?

The game is 6 levels long, and it takes about 15-20 minutes to be beaten. IMHO there's no need for saves. The game is not that hard, if you play at easiest you could beat it without breaking a sweat.

I may be late to the party, but I'd love to have a save feature added to the game too. Pretty pls. :>
