FAQ
Hi there! Here are answers to some frequently asked questions about Floppy Knights.

Is there a demo?
We've discontinued the demo for the time being, and are focused on supporting the full game at the moment. We currently don't have plans to release a new demo.

Is this by the same people who made Dicey Dungeons?
Marlowe Dobbe worked as the artist and animator of Dicey Dungeons, and she's the creative director and artist/animator for Floppy Knights (also, Will Lewis did some voices in Dicey!)

Who composed the music?
Grahm Nesbitt (who also worked on Garden Story) composed the music and all the SFX.

What were your inspirations for making Floppy Knights?
The original inspiration for this game was based on our love for tactics games. We also wanted to incorporate some deckbuilding and resource management elements to combine the genres into something unique. In terms of aesthetic, we were inspired by 80’s and 90’s technology and placing that in a fantasy world. You can learn more about our inspirations here!

Is this a deckbuilding or roguelike game?
Not quite! Floppy Knights is a tactical game that allows you to customize your deck of cards in between battles. The main story campaign has a linear progression.

How much RNG is in the game?
You randomly draw 5 cards from your deck, and the cards you don’t play are discarded each turn, so there’s a good amount of RNG in play. However, we would say it’s more like controlled RNG since you can customize your deck before each battle to help push the cards you want. You can also gain cards that give out random status effects.

How long is the campaign?
Based on the playtesting we’ve done internally and from watching people stream the game, we’re expecting the story campaign to take roughly 10-12 hours to complete.

What are the replayable elements in the game?
Each level has an additional secondary challenge so you can revisit completed levels and try out new cards and deck buildouts which you unlock as you progress through the game. There are also 24 optional Challenge Levels!

Is Phoebe an amputee?
Yes— Phoebe also built Carlton to help her out with odd jobs and battles.

Can I remap controls?
The control scheme for Floppy Knights is fairly simple, and while we’re not currently planning for fully remappable controls, we’re confident that playing with mouse + keyboard or a gamepad will feel great and accessible.

Does it support 4K / Ultrawide monitors?
We’re currently only targeting a 16:9 ratio at 1920x1080p.

What engine did you build it in?
Unity3D, which is what we used to make The World Next Door as well!

Is there multiplayer or co-op?
Although it would be cool, no plans for multiplayer at the moment.

Any plans to support Linux / Mac?
We’re on track for MacOS support, but currently are not scoping for Linux.

Will there be modding support?
Right now we’re focusing on the main game, so no plans for modding support at the moment. But we have to admit this sounds fun and we’d love to see what kind of levels our community would create!
