Steam Deck Perfomance Issues
So I was really looking forward to playing this on the Deck, only to start it up and get around 35 fps. This surprised me because I always check deck performance on Youtube before buying a game, and there are numerous clips of folks getting a consistent 60 fps on max settings.

I considered just limiting the game to 30 fps since it remains fairly playable, but then progressing further in a few areas I started getting drops into the low 20s which is just a deal breaker.

What's weirder is turning down the settings doesn't improve performance at all. I even cranked down the resolution down to minimum. Googling brought up a couple threads on Reddit with the same experience and it seems to have ironically occurred after the game went from "Unsupported" to "Playable" status. I've tried running the game on about a dozen different versions of Proton, deleted Proton files, tried reinstalling, can't think of what else to try.

Is this everyone's experience? Has anyone found a solution?

Hi, for me the game runs smoothly at 60 frames per second on default settings on the High graphics configuration. To save battery life, I adjusted the refresh rate to 40 Hz.

With a single charge, I was able to play for around 6 hours. It is worth noting that I did not encounter any stuttering or audio synchronization problems, and the game maintained a stable 40 frames per second, with the CPU and GPU temperatures remaining below 60 degrees Celsius.

I had another crack at trying to solve this issue a few days ago. All of a sudden it was running smoothly and I couldn't figure out what I had done but was glad to be able to play it one my deck finally. Then the issue reared up again when I had to hastily put the deck on standby in the middle of a game session to answer a phone call. I ran through the routine of fixes I did before and as far as I can tell, quitting the game, powering off the deck completely and restarting will fix the problem.
