Great graphics and music. Gameplay also in general. Story... opinions differ, but as a safe bet do not expect deep and well worked out story.
My first one was Ori 1, and I fell in love with all 3 of them. Ori 2 is overall better than the first, especially the combat. Ori in general is more platforming oriented in comparison to Hollow Knight. I would say 60/40 platforming/combat. Hollow Knight is about 80/20, more or less.
I don't know if this is your type of genre as it seems you're pretty new to it, but all three of these would be good entry points into the genre and are some of the best games Metroidvanias have to offer. Imo, these are actually the top 3 Metroidvanias I have played.
Another good one from this year is "Grime". It's much slower than Ori or Hollow Knight and very combat oriented with a very good story.
Also good, "Yoku's Island Express". A mix between Metroidvania and Pinball. Sounds weird and I'm not a pinball fan, but it works well and has a very nice, tropical flair.
I would probably start with any of the Ori games if I were you. And if you want more combat, try Hollow Knight. :)
Thanks for the recommendation! I will give'em a try in the future! Overall, would you recommend both Ori and Hollow Knight all together?
But regardless of the difficulty comparisons, Ori (both games) are absolutely amazing. I saw Will of the Wisps in store first but decided to buy Blind Forest first and complete that and I've only recently started playing Will of the Wisps but already it has exceeded my expectations. I would 100% recommend getting the Ori games. If they look like something you would enjoy then perhaps consider getting the Blind Forest first as the story of Ori 2 will make more sense after having played the first game.
there is few kinda similar games coming soon and part 2 for hollow knight
One thing that makes the Ori games easier than Hollow Knight is adaptive difficulty. If you keep losing to a boss and regenerating, after a few times you will notice it start to get easier. Not sure if this is just in easy mode. I suspect it does it by temporarily adjusting how much damage you inflict and how much you receive; both can be tweaked by different abilities you can get within the game. So I think it adjusts the values during the fight after a few failures and then adjusts it back after you win.
One thing that makes Will of the Wisp slightly more difficult (IMO) is it regenerates in the battle area with the boss already there. Blind Forest would put you in the closed off battle "arena" but in a spot where you had to move a little closer to trigger the boss. You were still sealed in until you beat the boss though. Also in easy mode, there are regeneration spots part way through escapes, so once you make it halfway you only have to do the second half.
But one thing that makes it easier (again IMO and IIRC about Blind Forest) is that it regenerates fairly near by automatically where in Blind Forest you had to do saves with it using some resource that you could run out of and had to refill by beating some enemies. There also weren't as many save spots. As a not very good player (love the graphics and story), there were some frustrating spots in Blind Forest where you had to do a number of difficult (for me) things in a row right.
