I think yes. Wotw continues where first game ended. and because the first game was awesome.

if you want the whole story unfold before you then i suggest you play the blind forest first , it also explains alot what is going on at the beginning of will of the wisps

If you care about the story at all, then yes

Story-wise yes. Gameplay-wise no. All your muscle memory from the first game will be wrong because they shuffled the button layout (at least if you're playing with a controller).

Can't say it is different for PC. More abilities, sure, but physics and controls remain mostly same.

Ignore this, honestly the plots in both game are the same, characters from the first game do nothing to this game outside the into. If you want to know more about the world then play the first game.

I'd say play the first game first because by the end of Will of the Wisps, you really won't have any desire to go back and see what led to the ending of the overall adventure. No spoilers, but seriously, both games are equally good as each other, so no need to play this one first just because it's "newer"--the mechanics are nearly identical between the two, from a "how well have they aged" standpoint.

You absolutely should.
For story and because the first game is absolutely wonderful experience.
