My ultimate advice after few experiments:

- Spaming dash only outside of sand is enough for 90% of encounter. Only in the last part you need to keep dashing in sand. There is a hole between two patches of sand, but if you miss your dash out, you still can reach next sand patch by using mid air jump or double/triple jump and continue.
- I used sand abillity only to get inside to sand and to jump out from it. Worm was sometimes close, but never catched me.

So the advice. Dont panic and dont spam sand dash. Precision is much more important for those 90% od sequence.

Time is not important. My record of this sequence is under 59 seconds while during my experiment I escaped after 70 seconds. In both runs Worm was quite close, so there is no difference how much often you dash in sand.

Yeah, the worm almost made me quit the game, but I managed to get past it and finish the game today. You should try to finish it, it has an interesting ending.

Every escape sequence in both games did this, it prevents you from outrunning to keep giving you the sense of an imminent threat.

I'm assuming your playing on Hard mode. I'm pretty sure that Hard mode makes that Chase sequence very fast, where you have to do almost every movement perfectly. Took me over 20 tries on hard. Soon as I did it on Easy, it was very easy, I hardly ever saw it very close to me.

I'm pretty sure easy, just makes every enemy slower, and not have as much health. Its very weird from playing hardmode to easymode because of how much faster you can kill bosses.

The worm for me was always the most annoying chase, every other chase I did first try. I still don't think its something to blame the game about. You should blame the game over the story/ending.

Nah its not true. Worm moves in each difficulty in the same speed. If you played like I have written in the post before, you wont have any problems with that sequence.

Are you sure? He was very slow compared to Hard mode...
Scorpix Mar 15, 2020 @ 10:30am
He gets faster if you are in segment for too long. For example the segment just before room with phillars, if you will stick too long in the patch of sand he will just speed up and make an impression that he is moving faster, because of difficulty. The same when you need to do 3 fast dashes after bouncing from trampoline. Even if you will dothem very fast the Worm will have the almost same distance to you like in situation where you were doing it slower.

I wasn't a fan of escape sequences in Ori 1 - I like hard games, but not when they are tedious. All escape sequences in Ori 2 were much better, and more intuitive in most cases. But worm chase is not only insane difficulty jump compared to previous sequences (also really feels much longer than previous sequences combined), but also just pinnacle of everything I've hated about escape sequences in Ori 1. Not a single margin for an error, necessity to slow down when slowing down can cause you loss (e.g. falling down and evading thorns), input ignore (I've died numerous times due to Ori not jumping into the sand even when I've saw blue circle), input queuing (due to previous point, sometimes you press buttons twice in case first time was not detected, but this screws you up). Worst part of the game so far.

I thought the same thing: it's not fun, it's frustrating and useless. A waste of time. Within reach of a few and it's a curse if like me you use the pad of the xbox one. A real joke especially if I think I am playing it on hard level and if I got here I am not really a sucker.

No, you're wrong. The worm is definitely faster on hard. I am 100% positive on that. I've experienced both and the difference is night and day, the worm is much harder on hard... who'd have thought? The worm is almost a joke on easy.
