Death loop last boss (Possible Spoiler)
Hey,
so the Game is overall great and wonderfull. But really, the Boss fights and Escape Sequenzes are still just bad.
But the last boss is Just a Joke, forget about the almost dozen of almost Unavoidable Damage, you can pretty much end in an Death Loop at the very Last Checkpoint.
From this Checkpoint on you cant do any Damage till the last Plattform get destroyed and you gonna Fly around, and receive 2-3 ( i think 1 Fly Attack is Avoidable) Fly Attacks around ~23 DMG each.
So if your pretty low on Health when reaching the Last Checkpoint im Sure you cant just end the Fight at all.
After 10 death always from the Fly attacks, i had enough and checked the Fight Online. To figure after the 3 Fly attacks you get a Short time Frame where you can finish him off.
So i just had to get enough Health to Survive this, with adding +Health Shards. Because even with healing up i didnt have enough health to survive, and not enough energy to Finish him off.

Finally i finished him off with like 1/3th heart left. But according to the Screenshot following, i guess i still died after finish him off. But finished the Game, so i dont care.

So i think some fights really need some Tweaks, or ppls just gonna quit, no matter how beauty this game is.

I havent got any problems with them (only that Worm was hard). Just training and I can do all of the bosses without taking any damage.

On the last boss you need to use bash skill all of the time and you will avoid taking damage.

Completed on hard.

I tried to bash on the raining things all the time, 2of3 of the fly attacks still hit me. (at the no plattform part)

The worm was kinda 2nd try? Spider was even crazier...and i have to do her hitless, i already have nightmares.

Hmm... don't get me wrong the swoop attacks are annoying but it's because Launch, the ability you just got, absolutely breaks the game. It's an omnidirectional, instantaneous, burst of speed that can be chained into Dash or Bash. I'm pretty sure the swoop tells are always the same... or at least I remember them being the same (I died here too) there is always 3 and it's always like... horizontal swoop, diagonal swoop, and I don't remember the 3rd swoop. Launch is op... so the fight is built around it.

The final fight phase doesn't even need energy... Shriek drops a million projectiles from the sky... and you can redirect them with bash into her face, I think you only need to hit her with like 3. Combined with Launch and Dash you shouldn't have any issue getting to another projectile as every Bash resets Launch and Dash.

Now i feel bad, didnt even think about that. I was just to busy with thinking about killing him off with less then 1 life left. But a Super Arrow and a Casual Arrow then did the Job. That was all energy left. Idk if i had enough energy anyway to outbash/dash/charge the 3 swoops, hard mode gonna follow next, guess i gonna train that fight then more.

But still, i feel, if you like with only 1 heart stuck at the last checkpoint, and only 1 Energy Crystal to collect, you cant heal enough up, to finish this fight , except your good enough to end it damageless, but if your that good, you wouldnt be in the trouble having only 1 heart at the last Checkpoint. Devils Circle.

You can always abandon challenge and start it from zero. There is a option in ingame options.
Launch doesnt need energy at all.

Gonna use that when training in Hard mode, but its Cheap, and should only be last resort, i kinda see a Health flower get added in that last Phase to avoid the possible Deathloop, atleast in easy/normal.

Are u sure? Gonna try tomorrow, i feel it used a little bit.

It's one of those things where you can't please everyone.
  • They could remove the checkpoint and make you restart the whole fight over if you die... but then people would complain about it being too hard (look up the sandworm escape sequence complaints)
  • They could restore a portion of your health to like 3 or something if you died there/// but then people would complain about it trivializing the final boss and making it too easy.
  • They could put a checkpoint at the final phase of the fight where Shriek has less than 20% health... but then people will complain about a death loop.

No matter what you do someone will be upset with it. I'm of the mindset that "Git gud" is an appropriate response to a boss fight so I would have preferred the "no checkpoint" option.

No Checkpoint at all in such a Long fight, combined with Escape Sequenz is not a good Choice (except for Hard, hard should earn his name)
But i would either delete the LAST Checkpoint, or set it a bit Earlier. Not right before you cant do much then dodge the Rain and drop into "you have now to learn Fly and Learn he only Swoops 3 times". I really thought for a Moment its like a Enrage Timer like in MMOs, if you didnt kill him to that point he Just finish you off, but then the Checkpoint would really be a Bug :D, so i checked youtube before i Start over.

Personally i really liked the last boss fight. I got into a similar situation with not much energy/health at the last checkpoint and probably died like a dozen times before i realized the swoops's patterns. Once you get the pattern (horizontal, diagonal, then something) then just use launch right when you see the swoop indicator to dodge it, then bash to reset launch and avoid projectiles, and roll to reposition if needed. I was able to avoid them all so it didn't feel like a death loop to me, and finished her with a satisfying hammer to the face.

As stated you can do ESC -> End Challenge and start the fight from beginning.
Besides that I used all the damage increase spiritstones. I tell you Ori is a killing machine.

That's true.Shriek's fly attacks are all avoidable if you see the visual signs in advance, but the signs are so indistinct on the backdrop.Whether you can see them or not depends on your damn luck.If they can be more district, there will be no difficulty avoiding the fly attacks.
