Lost save file

so i had got up to the water area, and had died to a crusher. when i respawned and i was stuck in void above the map, unable to scroll off of ori. so i quit and went to continue my save to see if it would fix it, but instead i found that there was no save file there. anyone else experience this or any way to get my save back?

I literally just lost my save file in the SAME AREA, after completing the water wheel. Does anyone have a 20% save file?

yeah it sucks, i was enjoying the game alot but it kinda puts me off a bit

I lost my saves too! In about same position, completed watermill escape etc

I think you need to:
1. Disable Steam Cloud for Will of the Wisps.
2. Make backups of your save into free available slots.
Finished the game and had no troubles with the saves whatsoever.

Here is my save on Normal at 23% I believe, somewhere in the Mill (Wellspring), one of the backups:

Thank you. I played in Easy mode - would this still work? Can yo uswitch mode during game?

Ah, no I believe, you cant change difficulty for the save. Sorry. Normal also pretty easy. Or 20% not so far from the beginning and you can start anew.

Yeah, I think I will have to. That long run form the beast and wheelmill was a bit long, but will ahve to re-do. Just need to remember to copy save files thsi time ;)

You might want to disable Steam Cloud Sync on the game alone, not on the Steam client for all games. From the Library page right-click on Ori and the Will of the Wisps and select Properties > Updates, then untick the box that reads: "Enable Steam Cloud Synchronization for Ori and the Will of the Wisps."

You can save in parallel, meaning you can quit to the menu after progressing to a certain point and then copying and pasting that progress into the next empty save slot. Or if you run into this situation again where your main save doesn't show in the save folder, you can rename one of your backups. Instructions here:
