having the same issue... fed up restarting the game 26 times a day
I have/had the same issue. For me, this game is really sensitive to the Video card clock. Practically the only single game which does that. I basically can't play this game with even the slightest overclock. But if I play it on the default clock for my GPU (1300 MHz for Intel HD Graphics 4600), then everything runs fine for hours.

So this might be a problem if you own a factory overclocked card model probably (you can always try to downclock it). Or might be some other kind of instability (driver, system related).

I have the same issue, when opening the map, there is a certain chance that the screen will go black but the game still runs in the background (can still hear running, skill usage or menu items selected). Then I need to close the game and restart, sometimes it crashes on its own.
Have tried different settings, but issue persists.
Starting the game directly from the .exe instead of via steam seems to make it happen less often (subjectively), but it still happens quite often.

Now I have the additional problem that the game freezes and crashes during the sequence talking to Kwolok always at the same time, so continuing the game has become impossible :steamsad:

Does anyone have ideas?
Might be instability, like I mentioned in my post above.

Skip the cutscene, allows you to pass without the bug, that's how I did it.

It let's you pass Kwolok. The way I am dealing with bug is, that only when enemies are near me (in the same screen) and I press the map it freezes, but if there are no enemies than you can press it and it won't freeze. This also happens with NPCs.

How did you skip the cutscene?
I tried pressing pretty much any buttons but the whole talking-to-Kwolok scene will just run along for ~2 min (it's quite lengthy...) and towards the end, the game crashes (screen goes black). I assume that there is some change of scene or transition to a video at the end that causes the freeze / crash.
Is there some way to just skip all of it?
