press esc and take a screenshot there , the background in the escape menu show you what abilities you already unlocked
I'm bit confused how you were able to progress further without double jump as its requied to reach lever to lower lift in that area. Are you sure you are not confusing it with Dash ability? You need both double jump and dash to go through that falling blocks and I see on those screenshots you haven't explored part where you find Dash tree. Double jump allows you to just jump again in mid air, dash gives you speed boost rapidly moving you in desired direction and can be used mid air once.
Also I see you are complaining about going back to double jump tree. Well just for you to know backtracking to already explored areas to find secrets thet were previously unreachable due to lack of some abilties is big part of this game (and its genre)
