Purchase tax sure but there may be other taxes and costs including exchange costs. There may be fixed contractual obligations. In any event it's entirely valid to change price according to standard of living and purchasing power. In China it would sell for a few dollars. In the UK there's an increase to allow for exchange risk as sterling is relatively volatile.
It is too simplistic just to blame greed without knowing all the facts. Once you know all the facts then feel free to blame who you want.
But maybe you can find a way to buy it cheaper.
