Water dash doesn't work

Hi , I started the game on windows game pass. I just got the water dash ability and it doesn't seem to work. It's just RB in the water right ? My controller works perfectly and i can use RB button in the menu to swap from map to inventory just fine...
Don't tell me i have to restart from scratch lol.

yo i actually am having the exact same problem ive been trying various things to get it to work like rebinding the key specifically or rebooting the game back up but i havent been able to get it to work either.Hope it ends up working for you mate

I might have accessed certain areas in luma pools that you're not supposed to without the dash ?
I tried that spirit trial, i acessed the zone by using bash on those torpedo fish. And i think maybe you're supposed to have water dash to access it? And i also got some hidden item in what is maybe an unorthodox way ? So maybe it triggered a glitch i don't know

Well i think we might have to restart the whole game. It's the first time something like that happens to me ever. If i can't fix it i guess i'll uninstall the game and buy it dirt cheap on steam in a few years. Can't be bothered to restart just now.

It's not RB you hold down the A button to swim faster and that's it. There is no water dash.

Guess it's called the swim dash in english, i play the game in my native language.

I thought you meant it as a different ability you acquire over the course of the game from the regular one you do out of the water so my bad I guess.

I think i'll just email moon studios and let them know about this at least so they can fix it down the line. It's a shame cause i really like the game.

Did you get dash to begin with? Water dash and burrow won't work without it. Sequence breakers found a way to get to Luma Pools early, and if you do that it breaks the game. You aren't supposed to be able to get there until after you get the feather.

Did you try loading an earlier save? maybe before you accessed the area you weren't supposed to

I got the feather before getting to luma pools. I also of course have the bash ability.

Do not confuse Dash (Ori doing rapid somersault-like forward move) with Bash (Ori is redirecting projectiles and throwing yourself and enemies around). You need Dash and not Bash to Burrow and Water Dash to work.

I just have bash i don't have the ability to plow through sand. And no i don't have a dash ability just double jump, grappling , bash , feather

Yep, that's why you can't water dash. You have to have basic dash first. It's one of the first abilities you get. You shouldn't even be able to skip it.
