HDR is back on the menu boys
I've got HDR enabled via windows 10 setting, and now it looks like when Exclusive Fullscreen is enabled the game actually recognizes my HDR display.

I can tell because the SDR content slider setting isn't in effect and everything is super bright as it should be.

Someone please confirm if it works for you.

HDR gives me a headache tbh. Glad you're enjoying it though.

The thing with HDR is that every game needs to be individually calibrated based on the available settings. This might turn some people off and could unfortunately deceive some users into thinking HDR is crap.

Personally I don't think I can ever go back, but I agree that "the brightness" can be brutal if not calibrated correctly.

I do not seem to have any HDR implementation available. with or without windows 10 hdr enabled. Oh well, FF7 is Friday anyway. I can wait.

Capey you do have Exclusive Fullscreen enabled, correct? There isn't any indicative setting within the menu, it just works with the Windows 10 HDR + Fullscreen combo.

If there's no native support, you're basically just stretching SDR out to 1000nits. Meaning everything is going to look super shiny, not just the highlights.

I don't believe it's been confirmed or denied that HDR 10 is supported on PC? My assumption right now is that it is indeed supported, albeit if in a limited form.

I tested HDR support at release, and now it appears to be functioning after the latest patch due to the addition of Exclusive Fullscreen.

I do not believe that the SDR content is being stretched as I initially explained that the SDR slider setting in Win10 isn't taken into account and the monitor itself is indeed displaying HDR visuals.

I'm by no means an "HDR Expert" (I try) so I was looking for someone with possibly more experience to provide their input if they have a proper HDR setup.

Does it look like this? (Nice contrast e.g. at ~11:00)

(make sure that youtube actually shows the "HDR" indicator)

HDR is not supported for PC yet. It is on their list, but no ETA yet. You can read it here from the developer:

Game runs like garbage on Xbox One X atm in some areas. It's not Native 4K either despite what you may hear.

I have it on game pass and after the latest patch it runs great on pc ..in some areas the gpu usage(4k gtx 2070s) goes from 50-60 to nearly 100) so if you compare that to the gpu of the one x its clear that it cant hold 4k 60 fps the whole time..but i think the new generation will bring us the resolution and frames like a high end pc..for now its just horrible..you have stable 30 fps or fluctuating 40-60 on consoles..

Mhm pretty much. I'm having a wonderful experience on PC but before when I tested it on Xbox One X it was just awful in some areas, to the point the game was almost unplayable. I would say it dropped to about 20FPS maybe lower.

Hopefully the next patch will address this.

Sorry for not answering your question. I do have exclusive fullscreen enabled. I have tried with windows 10 hdr enabled and not enabled. In windowed and in Exclusive fullscreen. It either switches out of HDR mode (exclusive fullscreen) or it looks like it would if it is running SDR in windows HDR mode with banding in blacks and such.
