Stuck in the Luma pools
There is an underwater area with 3 crushers but you swim way too slow to get past them, I take it I need some kind of new ability but normally you get them IN the area. I am legit stuck on how to move past this or where the swimming upgrade would be.

I was stuck here for a while too. In the giant room where you mean Kwolok, there's a bubble maker thing to the left of the underwater piranha plant thing. Open that up with the plant's projectiles and that'll left you go upwards. here is a video showing it (go to 23:54): https://youtu.be/IQoPIZ198Gg?t=1433

Ok so this is interesting because in Ori 2 you can go to any of the 4 areas in any order.
Without that lobbing fireball ability the act of getting up the bubbles is nearly impossible.
So the snow area MUST be one of the first you should do. Interesting because... I did it last.

Is there a correct order to areas at all? I feel like I missed something because I found the "last seed" as one of the first ones, and got abilities way of whack due to cheesing some jumps.

There is no correct order, but if you follow the Hand to hand side quest it would be Baur Reach > Mouldwood > Luma pool > Wasteland
Also going to Luma first is not impossible, I went there first of all area and didn't got any trouble solving the area and Baur Reach last because I didn't know I should use Kuro feature to wake up the bear
That said I recommend going to Wasteland first because of the Burrow ability since you can use it in Baur reach and Luma pool to get some collectibles

I originally went to Wasteland, Luma pools, Mouldwood, Buer's reach.
In my hardmode playthough I am going to make sure I go Wasteland, Buer's reach, Luma's pool, Mouldwood. This is due to the water dash being needed in several places while the Mouldwood's light ability has very little use at all.

A little issues with that is Mouldwood have the best dps shard in the game the Light Surge shard :lunar2019piginablanket:
Just below the entrance to the ability tree

I would say thats less important than abilities that allow you to collect stuff.
But you have a point.

How the hell were we supposed to know that's even interactive? Not only that, but wouldn't most players assume they need an upgrade to open that up?

This is the only time in the entire game I've been forced to use a walkthrough.

why forced ? the bubbles are like upwards moving jump pads , i figured it out myself and was able to finish the region without a guide
use the bubble to go higher and follow the way left until you reach a door that need 4 shards to open , collect them , open the door and get the water dash abillity (can be used to smash the fishies and these strange squids)
edit : for more clarification there is a map

"use the bubbles" isn't the problem here. It's the fact that the starfish can be removed, and that you can do so used the long plant's projectile attack (which it almost never uses)

I also briefly got stuck before the boss battle because I had no idea the water was safe to swim in (it was weird sickly purple, and indeed, the first few times I died instantly, not realizing it was the boss itself killing me, not the water)

Haha, have to second this. I absolutely love this game, it's a 10/10 for me, but this was the one weird design decision in the game, in my opinion. Only place I had to look up a guide to accomplish.
