Yep, just like Scorpix said. Here's the source with quotes:

Hopefully it's actually bigger because of content and not because they took the Hollow Knight route of 'let's make the p.layer run around back and forth across the map multiple times, which no real direction'.

New to metroidvanias?

I suppose if you consider "playing them since the late 80s" new to it....

duh.. that exactly what all metroidvania do....make you go back to previous zone once you have unlocked more exploration tools

That's what a Metroidvania is. If you've been playing since the late 80s like I have you wouldn't have come out with such a silly statement :steamhappy:

Ori was about 8 hours, so hopefully at least 20 for this one.

Two things that make your comment ridiculously silly:

1) As others have said, that IS a Metroidvania.

2)You are criticising an absolute masterpiece in Hollow Knight, and that's just plain sacrilege.

Maybe stick to Pong....or CoD.

Actually in Ori Blind Forest you are not obliged to make a lot of backtracking. AFAIK for the first time you are going from Thornfelt Swamp to the Misty Woods through parts of the map you already had visited and still you are advised to visit some new places by the way. And in second time while you are going from Sorrow Pass right to the foot of the Mount Horu. And Ori literally breeses through them even without teleporting. Visiting something again aside from these two occurrences entirely optional. Oh, and that small part when going from the Moon Grotto to the entrance of Ginso Tree with Water Vein in hand. So let it be 3 times.

So I'm pretty much can get what Melodia is talking about.

i dont like metroidvania games. i play from late 80's too. goin back and forth is ok for games like blind forest and flashback but that is how much i can take. i think the perfect balance lies in abe's first 2 games.

Dat name tag with the title
its funny to me :claugh:

Well for me it took more or less 12h to complete at 100% a single run of Ori & the Blind Forest. So I'd tap around 20~25h at best for Will of the Wisps.

There is an Achievement for complete the game under 4 hours.

Which doesn't mean much. Speedruns of Ori do it in under an hour.
