Spectre Armor

I've seen pictures of Spectre Armor dyed black. I've tried to achieve this but I always get a extremely dull and vague black. Help?

I have found the silver + <color> dyes to work best. Bright dyes are good too but still don't show up that well. If you haven't played around with the dyes much there are many more possibilities than the basic ones you make from the mushrooms, husks, etc.

getting the intense varieties of dye strengthens the effects on your armor, an example is that regular rainbow dye makes you have tints and hints of other colors, whereas getting intense rainbow dyes make you the fruitiest ghost to have ever lived. Really doesn't help i enjoy using the rainbow gun on top of the armor too
