edit: Workbenches count as a table.
That is my guess as well, rooms can be too big.
I if was missing a table or a chair, the error message would've been "you are missing a table or a chair", not "this is not a valid house"
You guys got it, but i remember building bigass rooms before 1.2, that's why i find it so weird now.. that room should definetly be valid.

What kind of walls? Some need a specific work bench or a furnace.
No, trust me, the check for valid housing is before toches chairs and table.
Guys, did you actually read how housing works on Terraria?
Gaps in walls aren't reason for "not valid housing", at you can have pretty big gaps and still have the room valid.
