Combat pets? How many of them? Which of them can be found Pre-HardMode?

I got a pet hornet from the queen bee and a tiny snowman (the item was a toy sled) from a mimic in the ice biome.

Bee is a comabat pet althoug it doesnt do much dmg, It is a random drop from the Queen bee

Combat Pets comes in diffrent classes, the Pygmys for instance are Minions and can be used together with any other pet.

As far as I know there are not a single pet that can be found in Easy Mode that can be used in combat.

Heck only 2 pets I know that actually do something are the Frost Hydra and the Pygmy's, and the frost hydra are a temporary summon

Frost Hydra isn't a pet.
Slime Staff allows you to summon a combat slime pet, you can get it pre-hardmode.

All the pets that are permament cant attack in combat as far is I know. The ones that can are summoned.

I have a pet turtle that cannot attack.

I found a slime staff that summons a baby attack slime that does 5-10 damage to basic zombies. It attacks like a rabid hamster though and can hit like a machine gun.

There is one in console/mobile that attacks called Tiphia that attacks. The default pet hornet is just a pet.

Let me explain this easily, if you check the item and it deals damage with whatever it summons then it isnt a pet, its technically a minion or a summon. If however you can equip the item next to things like your light source and mount, then it is a pet but it has no combat abilities whatsoever
