Do you prefer Corruption or Crimson?
Personally if I were forced at gunpoint to explore either a corruption biome or a crimson biome I would pick crimson. It's just a hell of a lot more forgiving IMO.

The eater of souls enemy was just too damn creepy for my liking... it would always be staring at you no matter what, even through walls, just ready to charge at you, not to meniton the way they particularly enjoy surrounding you. At least the spiders break off if you're not in direct line of sight and they rely on background walls for locomotion (otherwise becoming just large zombies), and the greater variety of enemies means fewer crimera (the crimson eater of souls) in the game at any given time.

Also, the diagonal chasm means you're far less likely to be knocked into a pit unless you're already deep inside (or you ended up with a crimson biome pulling a Yo Dawg on the Snow biome), making traversing it on the surface a hell of a lot safer.

Crimson. I like that type of red compared to the purple color they used for corruption. Also the armour itself that you get looks much better

Why not both? In all honesty though I wish there was an "Extra Large" world option when making a new world that has all biomes in a massive world. Call me crazy but with all the hours I have in Terraria the worlds feel so small now.

Anyways short answer I'd choose corruption because I think it's better but possibly crimson because it's new.

(Are you talking about in-game or hypothetically irl?)

Corruption. All the bloody stuff, I dunno. 'specially making flesh blocks. Ick. And the Golden shower thing, Deffinately not my biome. I'll take creepy demons anyday.

Well I'd hate to go into either IRL, but hypothetically I mean having to survive in one with only similar-level equipment (i.e. no hallowed in hardmode).

I would like the extra-large world option too, maybe one that has both of each type of ore as well.

I still get creeped out by eaters though, probably because my first experience with Terraria was spawning in a world where the corruption somehow generated about 150 feet from my spawn (and as such I was assaulted by stray eaters constantly, with no armor and only a copper shortsword to fend them off). I didn't play it again for months until someone else got me back into it.

As of now, Crimson.

Its by far easier to traverse, usually no pits, no thorny bushes, chimeras which are more rare than the eaters but essentially the same.

I also prefer the colour. Red is awesome.

Downside is (from what i read) is that crimson is harder to contain prehardmode, its more spread underground and sunflowers wont work against it.

I have a crimson in a icebiome and the red ice caves are bloody (hah, do you see what i did here?) awesome.

Poor corruption doesn't get much love

Crimson; Sorry but the whole "it's evil land!" is so blasse. The idea of the biome being made from blood, flesh, and guts is quite interesting and something more...herher...organic!

Oh and the fact it doesn't have asshats of enemies that fly and shoot poop that turns anything into Corruption. I always found that to be really an attack to make you feel the devs are just kicking you in crotch for fun.

Crimson. It's not as annoying to move over. I usually far prefer the color purple to red, but in this case, I just find the particular red of the Crimson to be easier on the eyes.

Granted I haven't seen the updated corruption, but enemies seem more diverse in the crimson. Plus that rain spell is absolutely amazing.

Crimson, as is far more easy to transverse.
