Turtle Shells?

So I'm in the jungle and I've killed approx. 20 Giant Tortoises so far and haven't gotten one, single Turtle Shell.

Anyone know the drop change percentage? Am I doing something wrong? It's a lil' frustrating.

isn't it scales? I've heard they're rare. I'm about to go farm mine, wanna try out the set bonus. I'll report back in a few.

Alright, ironically enough I got my first one almost immediately after posting this. Turns out they're just really rare. XD

btw, they actually are called SHELLS, not scales. I don't know why it says that on the wiki. Is it a regional thing? Anyways, took me 20 mins and a few battle potions to get 4 of them.

i got like 5 in a few hours just looking for life fruits and fighting plantera

Didn't see them for many many many kills, and then got the three I needed in about 5m of farming -_- Was frustrating.

I just found my third but didn't see anything related to Plantera down there... Kinda' hoping to find that soon. XD

u know i had the same trouble but i would recommend ice armour its better than hallowed and easy to get

Turtle armor has the highest defense and, if I'm reading it right, essentially an epic thorns effect as a set bonus.

you wont be able to spawn plantera unless you have already killed a hard mode boss, skeletron prime or whatev.

Already defeated The Destroyer yesterday then finished off The Twins about five minutes ago.

then you need to lok for big pink glowing flowers in the jungle, they will glow pink on your minimap, and on the large map they will be a 2X2 of pink.
