No shadow chests in the underworld?

I have a shadow key yet there are no shadow chests in the underworld?

There are, but the rate might of been reduced some.

There are, but they are in middle of map/hell, so if you are in right/left edge or near it, there wont be any, so travel torwards middle and you should find shadow chests, and structures that sometimes has them.

But with 1.2 update, there arent as many and they are harder to navigate, but you should be able to find them

I'm directly under my spawn point. I presume that's middle?

look at map, middle of it is one Im talking about.

But yeah, they are rarer now, I've explored ~70% of my hell on large world and only 3-5 shadow chests so far, and lot of duplicates and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ chests with only one item in it.

At last it wasnt as bad as one time, where my (small) world didnt spawn shadow key nor dark lance in any dungeon/hell chests, I even confirmed it via map editor and none had it

I'm not on hardmode but I've only found one shadow chest. A little disappointed cause I was hoping to find more and I have all the middle searched.

I also like having more chests, not only for the possibility of loot but also to carry back the empty chest and use it at the base. Even if it's the same item again, but maybe this time it has a different prefix.

My medium world had 4 in total. One chest for each of the hell chest items - Flamelash, Flower of Fire, Dark Lance and Sunfury.

They are there, you just need to search the houses totally, I don't think they spawn anywhere else - only in the Hell huts.

Last I recall, they can spawn in the Ash near the top of the underworld..
