Remove Corruption with Tedit. How?
Howdy, I'm in a bit of a pickle here, I hope someone can help me.

So after making many worlds (the world generator just doesn't like me :)) I finally found the perfect one. I spawned on a giant hill, and there is a big flat surface. I'm already thinking to create a village for my NPCs.

There is lots of surface copper, iron, a lot of open caves. Everything is fine except one minor thing. The freaking Corruption is a ONE minute walk from spawn!!

ARGH! Now this wouldn't annoy me if I didn't knew what happens when I convert my world to hardmode. Corruption and Hollow will grow beyond control and my beautiful world will be destroyed.

So there is only one thing left for me to do. And that is to remove the Corruption with Tedit. The only problem, I don't know how. I know that Tedit is a simple program, but I would like someone to post a simple tutorial so I don't screw things up.

Now before anyone says "you need the Corruption for this and that reason", I will make a second world where Corruption will be free to go wherever it wants.

Please help, I really want to play Terraria. I waited too long for 1.2 and I can't wait any longer.

Thanks for reading.

According to the changelog there is an item ingame that changes biomes, however I'm assuming it's an endgame item.

Clentaminator and Solutions from the Steampunk Girl once you defeat any one of the Hardmode bosses.

Or you could find someone who has an extra and get it from them and use that. You could always find a item map and grab a couple stacks of Plat, then buy stacks upon stacks of the Green Solution and go crazy.
The gun acts like a flamethrower and whatever it touches turns into the biome specific to the Solution. Green returns areas back to the original normal biome.

Play it as intended. if you want your world to be perfect, play one to get the tools until you can shape the world as you see fit. You want a hill there? make a hill. And yes, there is a very effective tool that removes/changes biomes.

also depending on map size, corruption will always be a 1 minute walk from center. that's how that works.

Thank you both for the responds. I watched the tutorial on it and it works just as I want it to. And it's not cheating, which is good for karma. :P

I just have one quick question. Does that gun reach all the way down to bedrock? Meaning if I spray the corruption on the ground will it return to normal below the ground as well? I don't want for it to expand in some remote places and screw me over.

The gun acts like a flamethrower so if you have one you can check the range. It's not like it shoots from where you're standing all the way to the bottom of the world. So you will have to do some digging.

Well that's inconvenient, I guess I can find all the corruption using the map. I guess I will give it a shot, if it doesn't work, then I will I just used Tedit.

If I remember correctly, regular blocks don't help spread corruption, just surfaces. The thing reaches about 3/4ths the screen, and will reach pretty much most spots. If you catch it early enough, you can easily remove all of anything unwanted.

Sweet!
Thanks

3/4th is not bad actually. Okey, then I won't use Tedit and play normally. Thanks for the info.
Is T-Edit for 1.2.0.2 even out yet? I'm pretty sure it's going to take a while before they update T-Edit.
