Spectre Armor is way too broken.
Either endgame needs a huge buff or the armor needs a huge nerf. Killing even the hardest bosses with no effort at all isn't very enjoyable, and there isn't much else for a mage character. Atleast not for endgame. Even the epic boss Plantera is a pathetic wuss. This tactic works against every single boss.

Noticed the same, though spectre staff is strong too.
However I don't believe that plantera is the only big boss that we will see in this patch. There might be more even more dangerous ones.

Red has at least on thing that is still bothering him, and that is a missing "final boss". But i agree that by now the spectre set makes you a god, unless you're falling asleep. And it is far more easier to get than those other endgame armors.

Indeed, the upcoming Lunar Boss. I bought the OST and saw the track, and proceeded to jump around in space in search of another boss. Sad we'll have to wait for that one.

A Boss for every biome would be nice + hardmode variants. I'd love to have a hardmode hell boss.^^ But the Lunar Boss will be epic. Majoras Mask anyone? :P
MurkySushi Oct 4, 2013 @ 6:33am
Yeah I would definitely love more bosses. If the lunar boss is even half as scary & epic as the Majoras Mask moon it will be a huge success.

i know an easy cure, make the lifesteal effect only 1% or 2% instead of 10% and reduce it's armor slightly
MurkySushi Oct 4, 2013 @ 6:42am
If the lifesteal is reduced too much it will become useless though. Then it would be better off getting a new bonus. I really like the bonus but I just think it needs some tweaking. Perhaps make it a chance on hit?

What if it healed you for only a tiny amount, but did more healing to your allies? I haven't even gotten to 1.2 hardmode yet, but after watching your video I'm pretty disappointed that something like that made it in.

Agreed. I managed to solo all of the 1.1 hardmode bosses at once with spectral armor. My health never dropped below 400/450 or so, and the destroyer nerf doesn't do it any justice either.

That would make the armor even more powerful than it is now if there are two people using it. Then both persons would be healed constantly for crazy amounts.

That would be an overkill. 3-5% Instead of 10% and without touching it's def at all. And they could just implent more enemies that gives you the silence debuff. Becoming totally overpowered isn't a bad thing at all, but for now it is way to easy.

Ah, yeah, I hadn't thought of that. Nevermind.

I think the main problem with the armor is that it was definately made for Co-op gameplay. For example, one person could be tanking in Turtle shell armor while taking all the agro from a boss, while the person dps/healing with the spectral armor would be healing the tank, rather than themselves, but the fact that 10% of the damage is being added right on to the single player's health is pretty damn OP.

Indeed. Especially considering the amount of damage and speed the endgame magic items have. Hell, some items like the leafblower I use in the video doesn't even have a mana cost! It basically makes health potions completely worthless.
『 Malv 』 Oct 4, 2013 @ 6:55am
Part of the problem is that you have seemingly infinite mana. Otherwise, it wouldn't be that bad if you actually had to manage mana.

Edit: Oh, that item just has no mana cost. That's weak.
