Are you using any pre-existing background snow blocks? World generated walls (snow and dirt) won't function as reckognizable walls (besides sky houses, and under ground huts.

Works just fine for me with snow and ice bricks/walls.
Maybe you're using the regular, non brick versions of the blocks.

I am using ice bricks and ice brick walls. I made a house out of snow brick and snow brick wall to test if its impossible to make a livable house in the snow biome but the person is happily living there. I started to light up everything. Only a few slightly dark spots are left. But my other house in a different world has slighlty darkish spots and it still works.

Heres my current base in snow biome. I'm using ice brick/walls and some snow brick/walls. Works fine for me... http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/576749904275797074/F14A3BA5D21AAD015B7DB3A4C55DAAD0BC21471B/

Yeah but if you have don't have a chair in it, it will say you need a chair(but i dont think you need a chair, you defintely need a table which it does prompt up). Same with light source.

I would say you might be missing single gap in the background wall somewhere or the sheer massive size of that room is making it invalid. Perhaps you'd like to design 3 or so smaller rooms to fit inside of the dome and use wooden platforms as "stairs"?

Yeah, seems like there is a height restriction where you can't have a room over a certain amount of height for someone to live in.
