Paint not painting?

I wanted to paint the walls and floors of my throne room in my castle, but whenever I apply the paint, it makes splash effects but the block color doesn't change. It still acts like there's paint on the block, and doesn't apply it twice to the same block, but no colors. I've tried before and after having the Painter NPC spawn, no dice.

I'm trying to paint Stone Blocks/Walls if that makes any difference.

I'm having the exact same issue trying to paint a house made of Grey Bricks.

You could be using the wrong tool, are you's using a paint roller foryour blocks or background or whatever?

If you're trying to paint bricks, I think it is bugged. I was able to paint wood blocks okay. Painting bricks was as you say.

Just tried to paint some grey bricks after the recent patch, still broken.

You can't paint gray blocks. The base saturation of the block is taken into account when painting. It's not a bug, but an oversight by the developer

Figured it out. You can craft 2 paint cans into a "Deep" version of the color, then you can paint gray bricks.

Dye Vat.

Not all paint needs it, though. Black Paint works fine without needing Deep Black paint.

I might as well necro this a, what, fourth time? I'm having the same issue for Deep *and* regular paint on Pink Vases, don't know what that's about.
