You're lucky, if you were around as long as some of us you'd be just as disappointed to hear all the times this update has been pushed back, or saw the day they left pc for console. Those were the dark times.
When do people start to understand that the Console version of terraria is done by a totally different team of people.

They never "Left" PC for console, Redigit just said he considered Terraria "Finished" guess he changed his mind and has now made this epic patch

and he also said there are more patches coming.

Different team, same company.

I consider "leaving pc" as focusing on console. They haven't done anything with the pc version of Terraria while releasing the console version, so, yes they actually did technically left it for console.

Fraid you're wrong on this one Colt. Different team, different company. 505 Games did all development as well. Redigit only does the PC version. The console and mobile versions are completely developed externally from Re-logic which included the extra content in the console versions that was not in the PC version. Redigit did not develop or design any of it. The console version wasn't even announced to be in development until 7 months after he stopped working on PC updates and leaving the PC for consoles would be if he himself had left developing for the PC and for a Console version. He also did begin development of the 1.2 update prior to the console release as he first was asking for ideas on Terraria Online forums back in January and wanted to originally release it around the same time the console version came out but he ended up having more and more ideas as well as getting suggestions and requests from the community. What do we get out of all that? Literally over twice the content that was in the game as of 1.1.2 update. Id say the wait was well worth it.

Fair enough, but if we look at them as a combined group, PC WAS left for console, and Redigit agreed upon it, therefore continuing the game on a different platform. My mistake, I thought 505 games was the publisher, but either way my statement still stands.

It is understandable that you feel this way. A lot of fans felt that way when the console version was announced. I do believe I read that 505 Games approached Red with the offer and you have to admit if you were in his shoes, you'd be crazy to turn down an offer like that. But, try to look at this way: In a weird twist of fate, we might actually have the console versions to thank for this update. It was during the time that the console version was being developed by 505 Games that Red said he started having a lot of ideas for Terraria and became re-energized with working on it again as things had calmed down in his personal life and decided to start developing for the PC version again. So, there is a possibility that if the console version never happened, we would never have seen an update for the PC.

I never said the console version was a bad thing, hell I even comtemplated getting it for that new content. I was simply saying it was disappointing to see Redigit give up on the pc version and see that consoles were getting the game WITH new content from pc.
