Tips for mimic farming

can any one tell me an efficient or atleast a not too bad way to find mimics?

For me, I just use a horizontal tunnel two to three screens wide and run end to end. It can be a little dangerous cause other hardmode enemies will spawn, so a tunnel that is staggered 3 tiles vertically for every width of the screen works for me.

As an alternative/expansion to the horizontal tunnel idea, try having several of those on screen at the same time. A 1 or 2 block thick seperation between them, with Wooden Platforms connecting them every now and then. The brown chest Mimics, IIRC, only need a dirt background to spawn, so why not make the most of whatever space you can get?

Blood Moon, Battle Potions and Water Candles(being held) all raise Spawn Rates and Enemy Limits, so making use of those will also help.
