Underground spawn point?
Can a home built underground be used as a spawn point? I'm down 1500ft or so and am not looking forward to the climb up and out. I've created a bed but am not getting "spawn point set" message when I right-click on the bed.

Nope, you have to be above the rocky dirt layer I think. Do you have a magic mirror? With 40 mana (Obtained from consuming mana stars crafted from 10 fallen stars each) You can use the magic mirror to teleport to your designated spawn point.

Son of a... The climb down was more fun. Thanks for the quick response. I haven't found the magic mirror yet but will add that to the list.

You may be in luck, if I recall correctly magic mirriors are obtained by finding them in gold chests, located underground. If you search around you may be able to find one down there. The chances are slim but if you find and loot several different gold chests your bound to find one. Underground mines/houses usually have gold chests. (And other things like statues and maybe furniture.) They are made of wood with a background of wooden beams. Try to find some, you might get that magic mirror. Hopefully you have the mana required.

No, you can have a house undergrond, but it must be suitable: walls, light, Table, chair

No one ever said you couldn't, he just said it had to be above the rockey layer, which is true.

i built a house 10 feet from hell so yes you can build a house just make sure to have walls and light
