The Eye of Cthulu has spawned. It only happens when he is randomly spawned, not with an eye like someone normally would.

Actually... this message appears if a player has not defeated the Eye before and has met or passed one or more the following: 200 max health, has 10 defense or more, or has 3 Npc's other than the Old Man at the dungeon.

i find the easiest way to kill him was flaming arrows and boomerang, broadsword for the lil eyes. try getting a hurtful or zaleus enchanted boomerang, which can be found underground in pots, and make some flaming arrows,

It's basically: "The Eye will spawn soon, man."

It will spawn after that message in a few moments. You will be warned it has spawned with the regular purple text.

The message also appears when you break a shadow orb. But that's more of a fake Spoo000ooky message where nothing occurs.

Grab atleast iron armor, 500 flaming arrows and a gold bow. Use some soup and regeneration potion. And you should be okay, and that is actually being somewhat overprepared. Do not use a heart peace until you are fairly prepared to fight em, because you could be in for a bad blood moon if you do and aren't prepared. You can get flaming arrows by combining torches with arrows, arrows being made from wood and stone, torches being made from wood and gel. For the iron amor you should go and adventure underground and save up iron ore and convert it into bars until you have enough for the full set. The gold bow can be made the same, you need an iron anvil and some gold bars, obtained from gold ore. Soup can be made from a bowl made from clay, A mushroom found in the forest biome and a fish found in bodies of water in the forest biome. Regeneration potion is obtained by combing a daybloom found in the forest biome, a mushroom also found in the forest biome and a bottle of water made by creating a bottle out of glass which is made from sand and being near a body of water. Do all that stuff and your bound to defeat the eye of c and get all his goodies.

Note : if the Eye of Cthulu has spawned, you can do mainly three things :
1. jump in a hole and dig downward for the night
2. go to your boss-arena/kill field (flat area with wooden climbing/jump point)
3. Save & Quit like a sissy. (when you load it'll be gone)
