Microsoft XNA Framework error - This crashing is getting out of hand
I've never posted anything before, so if this is the wrong area to do so, point me in the right direction.
But, essentially, I keep getting this http://gyazo.com/a7a77826aa027250624036b388ef7560
I have verified, reinstalled Terraria, reinstalled the XNA Framework, and tried verifying again. From the first time I started up Terraria after I got it, within seconds, I've crashed. It seems erratic, no particular pattern or trigger detectable so far. And it's driving me nuts. Sometimes it does it as soon as I open up Terraria, sometimes I can play a few hours and have no problem. Sometimes it'll do it a couple of times in a row, sometimes it'll only do it once. Either way, it's maddening.
I've noticed each and every time I do a verify, it always detects one file it then supposedly retrieves. I've done this four or five times in a row, now. I don't know what file it's missing or unable to verify, of course.
I'm able to run Terraria fine, as well as the server, with no other issues. It's just this crashing, which causes my inventory to reset a few minutes back or whenever it last saved my character (I'm not entirely sure how it works).

Thank you for taking the time to read and if anyone has any solutions or suggestions (and again if this is the wrong place for this), please let me know. I will greatly appreciate any help.

If you're using the xna 3 redist, then install the xna 4 redist & see if that helps.

I'm already using the XNA 4. The reinstall didn't help.

Update: My computer did some installs last night and restarted overnight while sleeping and it took a few hours 'til I crashed this time. I don't know if it's relevant or not but I keep crashing now that it's started. This is driving me nuts.

Did you ever figure this out? I keep getting the same exact crash and cant seem to find an answer to fix it.

I never did :(
Medra Feb 14, 2014 @ 11:12am
It's a bug introduced by the new update.

No it's not. It's been for several updates, Medra. They never fixed it.
Edit: Look at the date I originally posted this on.

I still get it.

I have the same problem. It could still be a bug with the game but more likely it's your PC. Other people don't have this problem so it can't be a bug with the game itself.

Let me guess: You're using a laptop, right? One manufactured before 2011?
Reigne Dec 21, 2014 @ 5:42pm
Laptop yes, it MIGHT be manufactured before 2011. This laptop is only a couple of years old or so. Windows 7 definitely.

OK. Then it might be your graphics chip. Pre-dated graphics chips tend to become problematic when running newer programs, and since this is a laptop we are talking about, the graphics chip will be fully integrated into the system. So there may not be anything you can do about this aside from reinstalling Terraria on another PC (preferrably a desktop). Sorry.
