soo hard to find mimics

does anyone know any good tricks to finding mimic

get chest statue. Connect it via wire to switch, lever, something like that and then u have a mimic.

Not to mention the fact that mimics spawned by chest statues drop nothing.

To find a mimic you must be in hardmode (killed WoF.) Then you must look deep under ground for the mimic because he is a rare spawn, What I do is every time I see a chest shoot it with a ranged weapon to see if its real or not. If you see a chest and you go up to it and it's the mimic your dead because he packs a punch!

Mimic's aren't really that rare I think, when traveling deep underground I probably see one every 10 mins. If your really hunting for them keep a hunter potion active (I think that's the potion for seeing monsters), and set your monitor resolution as high as you can.
