No wyverns

Im on a server with my friend and were trying to get soul of flights to make wings but we cants get wyverns to spawn we are in hardmode an are at the highest altitude but it still wont spawn anyone know why. Im using the latest tshock release

Wyverns are not a common spawn, just have some patience.

And the proper plural for the drop is "Souls of Flight."

Also we've waited for 30 minutes not a single wyvern

...You see any harpies where you're trying to lure out a Wyvern?

No harpies, no Wyvern.

I've also had to camp out for extended periods to get a Wyvern, but never quite that long...

I find that the wyvern only spawns when I don't want him to.
I made my base in the sky for the hell if it so he spawns randomly sometimes, but most of all in times I'm fighting a boss he'll just spawn and screw me over.
Worse of all was during a Pumpkin Moon, great timing guy.

As long as its really hardmode and youre at the level where harpies spawn, its all random chance for the Wyvern to come instead.

I don't know if they spawn at the "highest" points in the game, but try hanging out on a sky island. That's about the right altitude (or like Panda and Rabidchoco say, wherever you can find harpies)

find a floating island in hard mode and you will find what you need

I just checked last night and one of my islands was near the top of the sky limit (a short rocket boost took me to the top) and harpies and wyverns were there, so they do spawn near the top (again, as long as you get harpies there)

I know it's said that Wyverns spawn where Harpies do, but I could swear it's not always true. I have a floating island with Harpies spawning at a good rate. I've been using that island to farm Wyverns, but they never spawn unless I fly right of the island as high as far as I can. It feels like the altitude is not the only thing affecting the spawning of Wyverns.
