Losing items on medium core ?
As the title says, im wondering if you are supposed to lose items when your mediumcore character dies ?

Edit: To avoid a misconception, my problem which causes this question is, I went back to pick up my items, but some of them were missing.

Yes, you lose all the items you have if you die on mediumcore, but you respawn and can collect them again.

That is the entire point of mediumcore, yes. And you don't really lose them, you drop them. You can always go back to where you died and pick them up again.

Some items may have disappeared because there is an upper limit to the number of simultaneous items on screen at a time. After that limit is reached, every time a new item drops, the oldest item gets vaporised.

I understand, so its pretty much pure chance which items get lost.

Losing important Items is the same as dying with an Hardcore Character, makes no sense to me to play mediumcore then, when I get the same outcome.

Not really. Missing items are easily replaced. A character with 500 hp and 200 mana isn't nearly as easy to recover.

That's really stupid. Mediumcore is described as dropping items upon death. It's not described as losing items permanently. The price you pay should be the sticker price - not something much larger.

Re-acquiring an inventory full of post Moon-Lord loot is much more difficult than getting a character to 500 hp and 200 mana.
