Where/how do you find/spawn/harvest spooky wood?

Kill all the wood stuff enemies in the event. Really, I just want the thing so I can have six minions or something terrorizing the world.

Don't worry when you get to hardmode you can still summmon the moon. And get spooky wood :)

Yeah but when you get to hardmode and the event is over you can still get wood

yup, but I still keep dieing, Bleeping lava and getting knocked into it by spawns

Make a giant platform to run on so you don't get knocked off

You don't know the hellbridge method then.
Grab 1000 wooden platforms, and barrel through the underworld, knocking out everything in the way. Can't be knocked into the lava anymore hm.

A thousand blocks is more than enough. What weps are you using? & armor.
