Sword Or Staff?

I want a decision to make...Diamond Staff? Or Platinum Broadsword?

Diamond Staff can dish out insane damage if you got the mana. Sword is also nice, but will probs get replaced with Light's Bane/Blood Butcherer/Fiery Greatsword/Mushama/Blade of Grass/Night's Blade very quickly. I guarantee that.

Staff. best magic item pre-hardmode if you don't get anything else.. I think book of skulls might be the best one, but only from skeletron..

Get the staff man. Even if the sword has more base damage, the diamond staff is GREAT pre-hardmode and has basically infinite range, AND pierces enemies. It's the next best thing to Water Bolt.

Both, but use the staff primarily. When you run out of mana, use the sword until it's recharged.
