Farming vertebrae in hardmode?

Pre-hardmode mobs almost don't spawn, while hardmode ones don't drop them. Do I have to create new world to fight BoC?

If the world is crimson, then you can just jump into the chasms and search for the hearts (Orbs) and break them.. Follows the same pattern as summoning the eater of worlds.

I find prehardmode crimson mobs in my hardmode world. Also like the other guy said, you can break three hearts if you have to.

wierd when i was key farming i got almost 3 stacks of vertebrae maybe you should try holding a watercandle while inside the above ground crimson it seems to attract more prehardmode monsters (saw fewer crimslime and derplings than anything else)

I broke all hearts already.

Then your only option is to start a new world and continue there, or be patient in your own world and collect stuff there

You DO know that hearts appear only in those branching pregenerated caves in Crimson biome, don't you?

Yes I do, Dig down further you'll find more! I have done it a few times

When I started my new world I immediately went down to hell and made it hardmode. AFTER that I got dozens of vertebrae, so they definitely drop in hardmode.

I never said they don't. But they drop from pre-hardmode mobs only and their spawns are too rare for convenience in hardmode. Maybe you're lucky, but for me crimeras, crawlers and face monsters became too rare.

I never said they don't. But they drop from pre-hardmode mobs only and their spawns are too rare for convenience in hardmode. Maybe you're lucky, but for me crimeras, crawlers and face monsters became too rare.

Well if you want the method with the least amount of farming, then just spawn a bunch of small worlds and break all of the hearts in the ones with Crimson, I would guess that even if very unlucky you could be killing 5 or 10 BoC's in a few hours.

same problem here, I always try to get vertebrae but the drop chance is too rare and I barely fine any crimson pre-hardmode monsters
