Well I built my house some meters away from my original spawn, is that the problem?
Yup. You don't have to build your house there but you do have to walk to the map's original spawn to find the goblins. Just go there and you should have yourself an army to fight.
I see, so once I go to my original spawn and teleport back to my house, will the goblins go away or chase me?
If you teleport back to your house and your house is far enough away from the original spawn to not spawn them then there will no longer be any goblins. You have no choice but to fight the army at or in the vicinity of the map's original spawn point.
I see now. I went to my original spawn and the army was there. I teleported and only a peon came to my base.
Thanks a lot for the information. Also, one of the goblins dropped a mechanical skull. Lucky me?
Yeah, that could be useful later when you're in hardmode but I wouldn't suggest using it now. Just put it away in a chest till you feel you're ready for the boss fight it summons.
