Cattiva/Foxparks won't spawn
This is actually absurd, what is the spawn chance of these pals? I've been farming for *ages*, outer map edge past the dungeon (other edge is annoyingly occupied by living trees), water candle nearby, sleeping through the night, scouts *can* spawn, flat platform for them to spawn on and everything... No spawns. At all. For *days*.

Am I doing something wrong?? Can they not spawn on the dungeon edge?? Does the platform need to be bigger??
Hell I've even got a lucky clover on me, though I don't know how to increase the chances short of potions!

Edit:
I finally got them to spawn. I added a Jungle biome and maybe like, two hours later I finally heard the Foxparks whimpering. So, got that. Only took about maybe an hour later before Cattiva spawned. So it's literally just a matter of increasing your chances as much as you can and waiting...

It needs to be forest biome and the encounter spawns on the connected dirt blocks if grass is growing on them. Clearing away rubble definitely helps. clearing away the gras itself may help, or not. but it can still take a while and there is of course rng involved so bad rng is also very possible
It definitely feels like the RNG is too low, especially when they won't spawn in the middle section of the world, and it HAS to be grass, jungle grass, snow, or ice (so no sand, no corruption, no hallow, etc)

I've got a forest biome flattened out, it's a small space between the dungeon and ocean but there's enough space for the edges to be off-screen. I filled in any holes below the grass (because stuff was spawning below) and I'm standing on a platform above so the grass is just off-screen like the farming videos show. But I'm just... not getting spawns. I'm looking into getting battle potions and stuff to hopefully increase the chances. I'm getting scouts, and king slime, but no pals...

Sadly, like the random King Slime spawn, it can just refuse to show up. I did a similar setup to yours and at least got Cattiva after a few in game days, but I had to wait a lot longer for Foxparks. I even got a second King Slime spawn immediately after killing King Slime lol.

Battle potions -do- work though, and you can also make an artificial Jungle to further increase your spawn rates. Either way, it's just a matter of RNG, and the odds are not in your favor.

You at least got cattiva, I've gotten nothing X_X
I'll have to increase the spawn rates and stuff as said. I just can't believe the spawn rate is so unbelievably low, especially considering they recently buffed it! It's basically a "you'll never get this normally" spawn rate!
had mine spawn in snow biome, so doesn't need to be in forest, just where goblin scouts and slime king spawns on its own, they are just rare, life form detector and running back and forth will get you them eventually, took me a few hours for foxsparks
I've had that little event occur in the Jungle too.

However, will note this: In Journey Mode, I set my spawn rate to 10x. In about an hour or so, I only got four Cattivas and one Foxsparks... and two King Slime spawns.

Over 50 hours in my 1.4.5 world, and I havent seen either yet. And I have the lifeform analyzer, so I'd have know if they were around. They just havent been. O_O

Avoid middle zone as possible. Set up search/farm area around where scout goblin and king slime usually spawn.

Along with specific grass condition, the spawn zone remains unchanged with secret seeds. Only specific columns of the map can initiate the event.
I was clearing out an area for a base with a jungle when I found this:

After I killed the Archers and freed the Cattiva, a Foxspark spawned to the right xP
