Nice theming there. How do you ensure the right NPC for the right house? I had to 'evict' some NPCs with lava.
The easiest way is to make a single small spare room somewhere and move the unwanted NPC there using their face flag. Then move the correct NPC in. Then move the unwanted NPC back to the now free new room.
It basically allows you to play musical chairs with the houses if you have a free house avaiable.
Since my crafting room nearly always has a chair and a workbench in, I use that as the spare room.

By the way, e5.Maestro:
Open the housing menu (little house icon under your minimap when your inventory is open) so you see the NPC flags in their houses. You can remove this flag and thus the NPC from the house by right click.
By left clicking on the NPC's portrait and then another left click on the suitable house, you'll assign the NPC to live there
