Make a glowing mushroom farm. Few layers of mud, few mushroom grass seeds, voila.

Well first find the blue mushroom biodome. There is always some of them in each map. Collect some mushrooms from that place and if you find any seeds take them with you along with mud blocks.

Once back home make a room where you can plant those seeds with. Make the room 2 extra block higher than your character and make it so it cover the screen. From left to right side that is. If the area become like a biodome like the mushroom, build a normal house very close to the area and a new NPC will move in.

I think you need to be on hard mode to get those bars but the npc will sell a machine that you can use.

Just don't build that mushroom farm too close to your town or where ever you've set up your NPCs and spawn points because some of those spawns the Mushroom biome makes are nasty, even with end game hear.

As an added bonus, if you set up the farm somewhere underground, you can leave chlorophyte ore in the mud you use for the mushroom grass to grow it yourself. Just need to remember to have surplus mud to replace the mud lost to chlorophyte's growth.

They do regrow so even if you only find one place (which you have since you took those seed to make your biome), then you can just keep visiting it.

However, as part of my biome, I planted enough in that same general area that I can get about 120 mushrooms every time they all fill up and I go harvest it.

It is also big enough that I made other rooms and now 4 total npcs live in and around the mushroom biome area.
