How to open port 7777?
I just want to play with my wife. But we can't connect using Host and Play. And i went to that one website that shows if your ports are open. It says they are closed. So how can i open that port? Please help. Thanks

Just host as you would normally through the console or directly through Terraia, then for your wife to connect (via LAN) open Command Prompt as the Admin and type 'ipconfig' then use the IPv4 Address address for your wife to connect. If you want in-depth help on how host a World Wide Terraria server then message me.

ps. And remeber; Live long and :terraria:

For your LAN connection, IIRC, you should not need to open port 7777. Just start your multiplayer hosting from the menu. One of you will host, one of you will join.

This means that if the host leaves the game, the multiplayer world will end.

To get around that, run the dedicated Terraria server (downloadable from main Terraria website if it is not already included in your downloaded game files) Now both of you will have to connect to it (using the Ip of the machine where the server is running). It can run on the same PC as one of you will be on.

For the dedicated server, you can also tell it to use one of your existing worlds, so that you won't have lost anything by going to use that application versus running from within your game.

Yeah i did the host and play then tried to get her to join it. And it just stayed on the Connecting screen. And never did anything at all. But i'll try and get that Terraria.exe from the site and see if that works then.
