Not going by that list, the strongest weapons I've come across in terms of raw damage, the Possessed Hatchet and Sniper Rifle have the highest damage values, and the Stake Launcher deserves honorable mention for dealing 10x more damage to Vampires during Eclipses, giving a potential 2500 damage with full Shroomite. In terms of DPS however, the best weapons I've found for that are the Horseman's Blade, Tactical Shotgun w/ Chlorophyte Bullets, Magnet Sphere, and Bat Scepter.

It depends on what kind of weapon you want.... For me I like the True nights edge as its kinda easy to craft and deals around 80 Base damage and around 170-200 Crit for longer range id go for the minishark or the Megashark as its rapid fire can do a ton of damage.. not both of these Items but the megashark does not require it to be

The most powerful standard weapon in the game over a single mighty shot is the Sniper Rifle. A pain in the ass to find and requiring a degree of skill to use well, it can hit for 250-300 damage using good ammunition. Add in Shroomite Armour and a sneak attack and you're looking at over 400 damage on a good shot.

Over sustained fire, the most powerful ranged weapon is the Grenade Launcher. It's not very far off a Sniper Rifle for single-shot damage but can maintain a respectable 120RM rate of fire. It also happens to be very accurate in the hands of a skilled player, and can do a constant stream of 200-380 damage shots.
