unknown error on player character

I have been having issues with being able to select and play a character. Next to the name of the character displays "Unknown error" I have tried renaming file names in Terraria folder on pc, I have tried to uninstall and reinstall. All the suggested solutions I could find online do not work. It would suck to lose this charater, as it has many hours of gameplay. Please assist if you can? Is a vanilla version, no mods.

Could you try putting it into Terrasavr[yal.cc] and save the player file from there? It's a stretch, but I have a feeling it could work. Terrasavr is pretty easy to navigate, so I feel you should have no trouble loading and resaving your player file.
