why so f'ing much slime!!??

Haven't played this in a long while and decided to dust it off and poke around - then I remember why I always lose interest in it - THE DAMN SLIME!!

why is there so much? - it becomes the only thing I end up doing is fighting a never-ending swarm of freakin' slime... I find something interesting and start to investigate and have to stop and deal with a slime... then 2 more... then 2 more... then 4 more... then 4 more... then another one... then some giant purple one... then 4 more... then it's dark

That's the very early game. Having NPCs around reduces monster spawn; no monsters spawn in my village.

And yes, you'll be spending a lot of time underground where slimes spawn much less.

It's temporary, deal with it.

ahh - good to know... never put much time in building houses for NPCs... dealing with it, just annoying and distracting

Don't worry, you'll be one-shotting Slimes before long.

Or you could just jump over them, as they don't follow you if it's daytime.
