Magic Mirror Bug?
I was playing last night, used the mirror to teleport back to my spawn point. Loaded up the game today, and my magic mirror is missing. Did I do something wrong? Has anyone else experienced this?

Is there only one magic mirror per world? Or will I be able to find another one?

Thanks

There's usually many Magic Mirrors per world, it's quite common in underground chests. Even if there weren't any more in your world, you could just jump to another world, get one and jump back to your world.

My mirror has never disappeared, not sure what happened to you.

Did you take the Mirror from your inventory and used it? If so there was a chance that you dropped it when you logged out if you didn't put it back in your inventory. Held items (held as in their icon is displayed as your cursor instead of the usual) can end up being dropped... especially if you log out when they are being held. Dropped items are deleted upon log out.

If you can't find another then you can always use an inventory editor to get it back (It's only cheating if you give yourself stuff that you don't already have or had.) BTW before being asked: Google/Bing/Search Engines exist.

That's what I was thinking had happened. I keep it off my hotbar so I don't accidentally use it when i don't want to. So I may have had it "in hand" when I exited the game.

I googled it, didn't find a hard and fast answer so I posted here, sorry if I offended your delicate sensibilities. BTW no one in their right mind uses Bing.

Thanks.

I thought one of the major points of a discussion thread was to seek help without searching through thousands of threads that aren't quite what you are looking for. :rshocked:

My guess is the search engines comment was in relation to inventory editors if you wanted to use one to replace your lost mirror. It certainly seems most likely that it's just a case of accidentally dropping it. That's part of why I do some last minute inventory management before quitting Terraria. I'm not likely to have accidentally left something in my hand if I was specifically organizing my inventory at the time.

As for Bing, Microsoft would certainly love for you to believe otherwise.
