(HELP)Underworld flooded with lava

Hey guys.
I was trying to do a Hellevator and there was a huge lava pocket. I dug around it and guided it to the underworld.
I did it a lot of times on pre 1.2 and PS3 version , but now, the underworld is completely flooded by lava. What can I do to get rid of it?
Turning it to obsidian will be tough, because there is too much lava.

...the Underworld is *always* flooded with magma. Do you mean, by dumping a huge extra amount of it, you've created an especially high level of magma right under your hellevator?

An Obsidian Skin potion might let you mine a few tunnels and distribute it more evenly in the Underworld. The Underworld is very wide, I can't imagine you've freed so much magma that you'll make much of a difference in its overall magma level.

Exactly. I'll try to open big pockets in the underworld and let it flow into them. Ohh hell, literally

summon the terrian creeper xD. i get some bombs or good ol tnt and start bombing some holes

You should try out the obsidian skin potion, it will be helpfull.
