I use the same strat I used for pumpkin moon and it works fine.
If you haven't done that yet then you should work on that :)

Make a wooden platform 15~ blocks off the ground about 8-12 planks long and stand on it when the waves start getting harder and use a nimbus cloud to kill the adds while standing on the platform and using a strong weapon like heat ray or bat scepter to kill the harder mini bosses while wearing spectre armor

I love that there is an upgrade to the Flamethrower now. Elf Melter... I love you. Can't wait to get the other items from the Event. With adding traps to the mix along with my missmatched armor set (Chloro Mask + Turtle Chest + Turtle Leggings), Nimbus Rod, and Vampire Knives have ensured that I survive the night. I'm happy with this as from others are saying that beyond wave 15 is hell in a hamster ball, which makes me less wanting to progress that far without aid of another player...

I had no idea there wre new items, thought it was just the normal candy cane stuff in the presents and it was all I was getting when a friend and I were playing and buildingn a house. However when we made our way down to hell I started getting different items in the presents. Had got some orange outfit, then suddenly an awesome Dog Whistle.

I love the pet items, any others for this event ? And is there anything that is only obtainable in hard mode that can never be droped after the event, I ask because we are still on normal.
